The Xtreme Project Contest Rules 2012
“Contest for a Cause” Rules
XTREME RFID, a division of Cascade Engineering, Inc. (“XTREME RFID”), in collaboration with RFID Journal, is sponsoring a creative solution contest, in which participants are challenged to submit ideas that create a positive impact on society through the use of RFID technology (the “Contest”). The Contest entry is referenced in these rules as the “Idea” and the individual submitting the entry is the “Participant.” The Contest is open to Participants residing in the US and Canada, except for employees of XTREME RFID and RFID Journal and their family members. Registration is free and Participant’s submission of an Idea is acceptance of these rules.
1. Criteria
The Idea must:
- positively impact a social cause (poverty, hunger, disease, clean water, aids, etc.)
- incorporate RFID as part of the solution
- not be in production or published/exhibited prior to the March 28, 2012
2. Finalists & Winner Selection
The top 3 Ideas will be selected, by XTREME RFID staff, based on the above Criteria and will be publically displayed in the XTREME RFID booth at the RFID Journal LIVE! 2012 show April 3-5, in Orlando, Florida.
Attendees at the RFID Journal LIVE! 2012 will be able to view and vote for their favorite Idea. Voters may not vote more than once. The individual/group’s identity will not be revealed prior to completion of the voting, so an individual, team or combination thereof may have multiple entries in the top 3. The Idea receiving the most votes will be deemed the winner of the prize package.
The winner will be announced on April 3rd at 03:00 PM (US-Eastern Standard Time) at the XTREME RFID booth and will be posted at www.xtremerfid.com. The winner need not be present at RFID Journal LIVE! 2012 to win. XTREME RFID will publicize the winning Idea (including information about the individual or group entrants) at its sole discretion.
3. Prize
The prize package consists of $5,000 worth of consulting time, RFID hardware, tags or a combination of the three. The winner and XTREME RFID will mutually determine how best to allocate the resources to make the Idea a reality.
The consulting time, hardware and RFID tags will be calculated at retail rates. If the winner requests XTREME RFID to travel to perform the consulting, the travel time and expenses will be considered as a part of the prize value. No cash payment will be made and software is not included in the prize package.
4. Deadline
All Ideas must be submitted by 08:00 AM (US-Eastern Standard Time) on Wednesday, March 28, 2012.
5. Registration
The Contest is open to both individuals and groups. All Ideas must be submitted by completing the on-line entry form located on the XTREME RFID website at www.xtremerfid.com.
